WHAT ARE COMFORT RATINGS?
Comfort Ratings define the maximum level of cold protection a product offers in regular
temperatures (e.g., without wind or other impacts on comfort levels).
WHAT FACTORS OTHER THAN
TEMPERATURE SHOULD I CONSIDER?
If you’re working in -10°F and driving a forklift, you aren’t generating much body heat. So you
should wear gear that can protect you to much lower temperatures, perhaps as much as -60°F
depending on your body type and how long you’re in the cold.

HOW CAN THEY HELP ME?
RefrigiWear provides Comfort Ratings so you can pick the right products for the environments
you or your team face, from sub-zero freezers to 30°F coolers.
IS A COMFORT RATING ONLY GOOD
FOR THAT TEMPERATURE?
No. A typical Comfort Rating can protect you for about a 30-degree temperature range and still
be comfortable. You may find that you’re more comfortable wearing a jacket rated for -20°F while
working in 10°F conditions, while the person working next to you may want more warmth. Comfort
Ratings indicate the lowest temperature as a starting guide, but not the only temperature at which
you will be comfortable.
